Sweater (Coat) Season

HTML email (weffashion.blogspot.com)

Happy Monday all!

Every Fall sweater coats come out in full force so this year I decided to take the leap and try one. I used to stay away from them because they can be “unflattering” but this Lane Bryant coat completely changed my mind.  I initially saw this one during their Fall preview back in the Summer and couldn’t wait til it became available. It’s so versatile and can be dressed up or down. So if you are in the market for a statement sweater this Fall, don’t look any further!

Have a wonderful day!

5 Ways to Justify Getting Your Make Up Done!

HTML email (weffashion.blogspot.com)Getting your make-up done is always such a treat, so why do most of us wait until we're a bridesmaid or a bride to actually get it done? It is high time we made the splurge so here's how we can justify it to ourselves!
Make Up Artist Keara Kelly
who did a fab job on my make up in June
1. Same Price as a Blow-Dry
While prices vary in make up application, it usually costs the same price as a blow - dry so next time you have an outing, spend your blow dry money on gett ing your make-up done instead. See? Technically not spending any extra money.
Quick Trick make up demo from
Charlotte Tilbury @ Brown Thomas Dublin
2. Redeem that money on product!
If you get your make up done at a cosmetic counter you can redeem the cost of your make up application on products which you would need to buy anyway so your practically SAVING money. Bear in mind that you will need to book a Saturday appointment in MAC at least three months in advance if not more. C harlotte Tilbury is better for last minute demos.
Yesterday's wedding make - up
by Make Up Artist Gill Donovan @10am!
3. A smokey eye is an accessory
I went to a wedding  yesterday and wore a dress I've worn at least ten times before, so was easily able to justify getting my make up done. Technically a smokey eye is an accessory, so well worth the spend.
Still going strong at 5pm!
4. Lasts all day - AND NIGHT!
Gill Donovan did my make - up at 10am yesterday morning and at 3am it was still perfect. Safe to say if I had done my own face I would have been a state at that hour!
"I'm actually Stunning" Leonie Gilsenan 2015
(make-up by Keara Kelly!)
5. Immediate confidence boost
Save money on life coaching by getting an immediate confidence boost by getting your make-up done. Myself and my friend Leonie felt invincible when we got our make up done for my 30th. See you later flaws - we are out for the night!

10 Curvy Girls Sizes 20+ Who Are The Epitome Of Curvy, Confident and Chic

HTML email (weffashion.blogspot.com)

There is no doubt that tremendous growth has taken place in the plus size community and industry.  There was a time, not too long ago when we were rarely represented in the media.  Now, you can turn on your television, open a magazine, or click on your computer and see plus size women. Although this is great and I am happy to see it, I must admit that I feel a little left out and misrepresented at times.

I know that I am not the only one that wonders, where are the fuller figured, belly having, thigh jiggling, full face size 20+ plus size women!  The girls that are my size, the girls with a little gut that are not as well proportioned.  Other than Tess Holiday, you rarely see sizes 20 and up represented, even by brands that cater to us.

Now please don’t get it twisted, I am not trying to shade anyone in the curvy community and I appreciate all of the love we are being shown.  However, I need the world to know that curvy confidence doesn’t stop at a size 18 and some of us don’t have great proportions but, BUT! OUR CHIC IS ON FLEEK! (hehehe)

Don’t believe me? Check out these cuties with a little extra extra cushion who are all things CURVY, CONFIDENT and CHIC.

10 Curvy Girls Sizes 20+ Who Are The Epitome Of Curvy, Confident and Chic

Schowałam wsz ystkie s zorty, letnie sukienki i sandały, w ich miejsce porozkładałam cieplejsze bluzy, swetry i koszule z długim rękawem.

I don't know what is the weather like at your place, but here there are some really cold days. Luckily there are also some when the sun shines so bright that the red and yellow trees look like they were glowing and its so warm, you think summer decided to stay a few days longer. Yesterday was a quite sad day, not only it was cloudy but I stowed all my sandals, shorts and summer dresses and put into my wardrobe warm shirts, pullovers and cardigans instead. But on the other hand, autumn gives more room for creativity with fashion. Since I learned to see in almost every situation something good I am much happier now. I am even looking forward for the winter and snow :)

With autumn and winter there comes every year the same problem - high leg boots. Even when I was wearing size 38/40 I couldn't find shoes that would fit my wide calves. Someday I just stopped looking for them and concentrated on other types of winter shoes. But finally something started to change in the fashion industry and the producers came to the idea that each woman has a different body type. Finally even I could wear high leg boots and feel fantastic. As you can see I found a perfect pair of boots and this could happen thanks the Weitschaftstiefelshop , a German online shop. My 50 cm wide calves found shoes and it even wasn't the biggest (calve) size :)

Now is exactly the best time, where you can wear high boots and a lighter jacket. I am so in love with the combination of boots, opaque tights and a shorter dress. This outfit created a dear friend for me. Looking at her awesome outfits I new, that she wouldn't give me a bad advice. I felt so good in this clothes and think it is time to look after some new dresses with a wild pattern :)

5 Reasons Why Fat Girls Are Winning

HTML email (weffashion.blogspot.com)

Marie’s Note: Today we welcome Maui to the team as she shares her bold, sassy, and often hilarious thoughts on life as a plus size woman! Please welcome her to the TCF Family and pull up a seat to read her post that deserves snaps in a z formation! Take a read!

Wayne Sleeps Big Ballet For years, or for as long as I can remember, being fat (plus size, curvy, thick) has been frowned upon. See, the way society’s beauty standards are set up… You can’t be a contender if your frame isn’t slender (insert side eye). Not because of morals, attitude, or any other characteristics; fat girls got no love simply because we were fat and fat was THOUGHT to be whack. Never mind true beauty (inner), if you ween’t physically fit, you were as flawed as a three dollar bill.

For many plus size women and girls, society’s perspective begin to take a toll on how we saw ourselves. Which is part of  the reason the fat girl began to be labeled as having low self-esteem. However, over the past 5 years, there has been a huge shift in the attitude of and toward fat girls.  While we may not agree on what we want to call ourselves (fat, thick, curvy, plus size or full figured) we do agree that there are great things happening in the community and we welcome them.

Now don’t get it twisted, society has not completely changed its view on fat woman. Yeah, we still have negative people with negative attitudes. Of course there is still the assumption (according to society’s beauty standards) that we are ugly ducklings. Then you have the sideways compliment that suggest we are simply pretty faces (with bad bodies).  Oh, did I mention the notion that we are undesirable women that lack self-control.   Many still see us as undesirable women who lack self- control.  However, if your attitude is like mine, YOU COULD CARE LESS!

BUT! BUUUT!

How many of you know that fat girls are winning?

Selfies with models Heyy!! @felicityhaywardcurvemodel #fatgirlsbewinning

A photo posted by outofthecorner (@outofthecorner) on

How many fat girls have internalized that we are winning? Truth is, despite what haters think, fat girls are winning.  Yes, we are kicking ass and taking names.  In the event that you don’t believe, allow me to give you a few examples, and if you still aren’t convinced, I invite you to head on over to instagram and check the hashtag #fatgirlsbewinning.

  1. In the words of the great Lauryn Hill, “How you gone win if you ain’t right within?” You can’t! Happily, fat girls got (and are still receiving) the memo.  More and more women in the plus community are embracing who they are, flaws and all.  We have dismissed the notion that we are defined by society’s beauty standards.  Fat girls are winning because we love ourselves and we are not ashamed of that.Meet MAC’s new Plus Size Star Luzmaria Vargas
  2. Fat girls are winning because not only do we feel good but we look good too. Long gone are the fat and frumpy days, we are fat and fabulous!  Plus size fashion has come a long way and we embrace it all, honey!  We now have fashion options that allow us to dress and be as fly as we know we are. (See a few fave plus size designers and plus size boutique pages for receipts)
  3. If content is queen, fat girls reign supreme because the blogosphere and other media are filled with curvy confident women. Women who make it their business to push the plus size community and industry forward. More and more, you can find curvy models and bloggers in publications and representing brands that once wouldn’t touch us with a ten foot pole. This is another indication that fat girls are winning.44433f_9616f4c1d8124d609e4e262293393116
  4. Whether it is #IAmAshley, #PlusIsEqual, #CelebrateMySize or any other plus size movement, they have helped to build the momentum. Yes, fat girls are winning because we have brands that love and celebrate our curves. Nothing is more empowering and uplifting than thousands of women (fat women) united for the greater good of all fat girls.
  5. There is a song that says, “if you aint got no haters you ain’t poppin.” With that being said, all we do is win (yeah I love hip-hop) because fat girls have plenty of haters.  Some are big mad and some are little mad, but they are all mad because they know that we are winning. We know that the hate stems from the fact that you know we are a big deal (literally).

Check out my latest post, “A wise woman changes her mind, a fool never will.” Deets on this look and the origin of this quote. The link is in the bio. #fatgirlsbewinning #plussizefashion #phatgirlfresh #curvy #ibloglife #plusisequal

I've come to really love a denim dress. They weren't quite my vibe as I could only find fit and flair shirt dress options or more of the belted preppy versions but the new iteration of oversized dresses with large pockets and perfectly tinted chambray...that's all me. This dress is definitely a new fav! There's a little bit of my boyfriends shirt vibes and I've worn it about 10 times since owning it with everything from booties to Chuck Taylor's to these lace up heels.

16 Sept - 23rd Sept, 2015

OMG I am such a happy girl. Just working from home, I lost track of time and suddenly I realise it's already DAY 2 of the KL Internatio nal Come dy Festival! GOSHHH but nvm.. I know which dates I'm going for already after attending the press conference last month with Harith Iskandar and 6 renowned comedians who made us the media laugh with their introductions at Berjaya Times Square Hotel. The whole interview was held with a live video connecting the audience to the comedians on the big screen. It was such a pity that my favourite comedian Paul Ogata wasn't present for the interview! so I'm going to stalk him down at his shows on 20 (the grand finale at Berjaya Hotel), 21 and 22 September at Publika and The Bee respectively.

the ticket prices for Gala Night

The grand finale features 7 major headliners from all around the world and tickets are sold not cheaply because well it's a huge event and I definitely must not missed it!!! I've been following the stand up comedy scene since I started visiting The Crackhouse Comedy Club, TTDI (just 10mins walk away from my house). By now I got to know some headliners from all over the world thanks to this place, including our very own local talents who's impressively skilled. Still my favourite is Paul Ogata. Russell Peters is not even that good and it was a let down attending his Almost Famous show in Shah Alam early this year.

FYI, the tickets are only seated for the Gala Night on 20/9 and not for the rest of the shows. All the schedules can be found below and at 4 locations selected where over 60 comedians will be doing their act - Black Box
(Publika), White Box (Publika), The Bee (Jaya One), and Crackhouse Comedy Club (TTDI).
