FFFWeek Recap: The Curves at Sea All White Cruise

When Gwen said it was going to be a bigger and fancier ship, honey she did not lie. We had ourselves a YACHT! “The Hornblower Infinity Yacht” to be exact! This three story boat was fancy and I was here for every loving part of it! Thanks to my buddies Xpandasox, who brought me along for the ride, and Ashley Stewart who dressed me, I enjoyed a night of good food, a really cool sketch, and TONS of dancing!!!

My Look with MY TWIN, Rev’ee Lamar, The Face of Full Figured Fashion Week:

You know what I love? Is that some ladies start planning for this event upwards to six months in advance, getting custom looks made! Yes boo. Not only do they get their looks made early, they arrive hecka early too. I thought by getting there at 5:30 I was pushing it. Nope, there was already a crew in line.

Not only to the attendees come dressed to impress, suited and booted, but they come to have a great time and to help ensure that they did, Ashley Stewart came in ad dazzled us with an all-white fashion show! Right in the middle of the boat, the ladies served up a bit of fashion with the ever so fierce and fabulous Tamara Ivey emceeing the show!

But before we cut a rug on the dance floor, they served up a delicious meal (which was available on ALL THREE LEVELS, thank you Gwen) and there was even an artist on the boat giving out caricature drawings! I waited and got mine done honey! Yes, I did! Waves Hi to Lena J!

I do hope that they keep this boat for next year, because I am officially spoiled! This was a great step up and I loved the space, because honey! We got DOWN on the floor! The DJ was jamming on the one and we broke a sweat, did a few line dances, and twirled a few times to some salsa!

New Contemporary Plus Size Collection- Eleven60 by Kierra Sheard

Over the weekend while I was at FFFWeek, a new high-end plus size collection dropped- one that I have long been anticipating and so have quite a few others! If you happen to be a gospel music lover, like me who grew up in the COGIC family (Hey New J, West A, and Life COGIC) then you are aware of or are familiar with award-winning gospel singer turned fashion designer, Kierra Sheard! Over the weekend, pre-sales launched for her new clothing line, Eleven60 by Kierra Sheard!

Daughter of famed gospel singing group, Karen Clark-Sheard of the Clark sisters, Kierra named her debut clothing collection, Eleven60, named after her mother’s birthday, November, 1960! How cute and sweet, right? Well, interestingly enough, this is not the first apparel project under Kierra’s belt. Nope!

Did you know that she had a hosiery line sold exclusively to Walgreens named Sheers by Sheard? Yes! Love it. The Grammy and Stellar Award winning singer and judge on “Sunday Best” brought her line of “hosiery for curvier women” to the Chicago and Houston Walgreens, so business is in her blood and I salute her in her drive and mission to bring fashion and inspiration to the plus size woman!

Kierra has often shared the impetus for the brand, touting how difficult it is to find “quality and high fashion trends in my size.” And this is why Eleven60 was created! She wanted a collection that featured her favorite elements in her frocks in a market where there is a need for more modern and high-fashion options in contrast to the overwhelming supply of casual, club, and streetwear options.

Vegan leather. Lined items. Bold Peplums. I am here for this.

But back to the clothes! Let me share the look book ad images with you! Sketched by Nicole Updegraff, and modeled by Kierra Sheard, Amber Riley, and my boo Cass, there are a few that I NEED.

So what does Eleven60 present? Here you go!

These details that Kierra has been looking for. She shared with Charisma Monroe that she needs “high waistlines, heavy duty, high quality material, bold zippers, exaggerated coat tails, subtle prints, neutral hues, and earth tones.” This is what the brand gives us! High fashion, attention to detail, and a bit of a polished edge.

Now I must say, this collection is not for everyone, but definitely for someone. And this is okay. The woman who has been looking for unique and classic pieces to enhance her collection. The woman who wants a bit more out of her clothes. This is NOT fast fashion.

I say that to say that while we have more fast fashion brands (think Charlotte Russe, Ava+Viv, Missguided, BooHoo, RebDolls, Forever21, and Living Doll LA amongst many more)  adding plus to their range, we now have Eleven60 that can sit next to the likes of Jibri, CarmaKoma, Adrianna Papell, and Rachel Pally! A true contemporary brand that is giving more options to the plus size woman!

Ich habe seit Jahren nach einem Jeanskleid, das ich mit Leggings tragen kann gesucht. Bisher war ich mit keinem zufrieden, sie waren entweder aus zu dickem Stoff oder zu lang oder meine Größe fehlte. Dieses hier war das letzte und in meiner Größe. Sehr schlicht, wie ich es gern habe, leicht und in einer guter Länge (ich kann es am Strand auch ohne Leggings tragen). Auch die Tasche ist neu - es ist sehr schwer eine sehr schlichte schwarze Tasche mit verstellbaren Trageriemen zu finden. Ich war so glücklich als ich sie vor kurzem entdeckt habe. Das Jäkchen mit den Fransen ist auch ein Teil nach dem ich schon einige Zeit auf der Suche war. Am jenem Tag eignete es sich perfekt für einen Spaziergang am Rhein, es schütze vor dem kühlen Wind der ab und zu auf uns zu kam. Es war ein wunderschöner Abend...

Od lat szukałam dżinsowej sukienki, którą mogłabym nosić z getrami. Do tej pory nie znalazłam żadnej, z której byłabym zadowolona. Je dne był y ze zbyt grubego materiału, inne znowuż za długie, a przy jeszcze innych brakowało mojego rozmiaru. Ta była ostatnią w moim rozmiarze. Jest bardzo skromna i prosta - tak jak lubię najbardziej, lekka i o dobrej długości (na plaży mogę ją śmiało nosić bez legginsów). Także torebka jest nowa - miałam niesamowite trudności znaleźć bardzo prostą czarną torebkę z paskiem, którego długość można regulować. Wszystkie były albo sztywne, albo tylko do ręki lub miały ozdoby. Moja radość była ogromna, gdy w końcu trafiłam na mój wymarzony model. Narzutka z frędzlami również była czymś, czego szukałam. Tego dnia nadawała się świetnie na spacer wzdłuż rzeczki, chroniła przed podmuchami chłodnego wiatru. To był naprawdę piękny wieczór...

I've been looking for my perfect jeans dress for years. Those I found were either f rom a thick fabric or too long. This one was the last one in my size. It's very simple and humble - the way I like it the most, the fabric is thin and perfect for the summer and by this length I can wear it with leggings or without when I am on the beach. The bag is something I've been looking for too. It is really hard to find a very classic, plain black bag with an adjustable shoulder strap. I was so happy when I finally found it. And the cardigan is another piece in this outfit I wanted for a long time and had problems with finding the right one. It was perfect for our walk at the riverside, it kept me warm when a cool wind was blowing. It was a beautiful evening...

Oh, p.s. this dress is a new fav! Spaghetti straps, a little elastic across the back, fit and flare and a sweet print. Ask for more? I think not.
