For her latest collection, there is an air of polish with serious edge- signature to the line, but for this range, there is a bit more WOW to this! InVESTed

HTML email (weffashion.blogspot.com)

Happy Monday!

Over the past couple of days the mild, pleasant days of Spring have been replaced by mid-July temperatures.  When it’s hot and humid outside, the last thing I want to do is cover up.  Going sleeveless can be a very scary thing. For years I wouldn’t show my arms because I they were the size of Christmas hams but after one particularly hot Summer, I decided to abandon my fear of going sleeveless. Now don’t get me wrong I still have issues with my arms but my comfort level in the sultry heat trumps caring about what others might  think.

A sleeveless vest was high on my “must have” list  because I can wear it strapless dresses.   Finding a strapless bra in my cup size has been challenging to say the least, so this vest is a blessing!

Do you have a sleeveless vest? If so, how do you wear yours?

Have a wonderful day!

Casual Friday: Breezy Palms

HTML email (weffashion.blogspot.com)

TGIF all!

Lately I’ve been embracing printed skirts in effort to move away from stripes. Now don’t get me wrong I LOVE stripes but I was becoming too complacent.  So when I saw the fabulous Mo from  Lion Hunter  rock this lovely palm print skirt, I knew I had to have it but  there was only one issue…her skirt was handmade! Awww man!  Just when my palm print dreams were about to be dashed, the lovely Mo decided to add the skirt to her Etsy store The TUTU Experience! Needless to say, this skirt will be in heavy rotation for the rest of this Spring and all Summer long!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Curvy Cities With Marina Rinaldi

HTML email (weffashion.blogspot.com)

Long time followers of my blog might recall the #WomenAreBack campaign that I was involved in a few years ago with the brand Marina Rinaldi. In what still seems like a dream I was flown out to Milan with eleven fellow plus size bloggers to partake in a campaign with the luxury plus size brand. It was the most surreal moment of my blogging career, abnd I still feel so luck to have been asked to be part of the incredible event.

Recently, beautiful Luca from Marina Rinaldi contacted me and asked me if I would like to partake in their ‘Curvy Cities’ campaign. It involved 5 bloggers from the ‘Women Are Back’ project, and I was absolutely chuffed to have been asked to be involved with the brand once again. Luca flew to England with the wonderful photographer Cara Peeney and after I was made glamorous by a wonderful hair and make up artist, Cara took some photos of around the elegant streets of Chelsea.

Curvycities4

I have to say that being dolled up and dressed to toe in elegant beautiful clothes was wandering around Chelsea was rather fantastic. I felt like a superstar and I was super sad when the shoot came to an end. Cara was so good at getting the very best from me and adding lots of movement and story telling to the photos. I am so used to the pin up poses, but this was elegant with a pop of vintage and a dash of pin up and it was lovely to do. Wearing designer clothes never hurts either!

Curvy Cities also featured Stéphanie Zwicky in Paris, Edith Dohman in Amsterdam, Tanesha Awasthi in San Jose and Marie Denee in Atlanta. I love how different all of our style are and how we made each look our own – the power of the Marina Rinaldi range.

Interviewed by Beauty Guide

HTML email (weffashion.blogspot.com)

interviewed by Beauty Guide

I had the pleasure to meet the founder of Beauty Guide early this month and we chatted for 3-hours sharing about our experiences in this industry. With that came an interview which I happily said yes. A few days ago, Nicholas fb me to say it's out! I rushed over the net to check the interview and I was surprised they went through my blog to pick some pretty sentimental photographs of me for their feature. Thank you Beauty Guide for the lovely interview, I hope you don't mind that I share it on my blog for my readers to read as well.

Butt erfly Pr oject is a community for beauty and lifestyle bloggers and social influencers. It's a place where likeminded individuals in the pursuit and passion of sharing their personal interests, experiences and reviews could gather and exchange ideas. The community started out with one key goal - to mentor and empower female bloggers through a series of experiential activities called projects. Being passionate about what you do and inspiring others in the process of it, is what sets the community apart from others. Connecting brands and bloggers together, we believe this duo combination would create a wildfire of imaginative experiences to be read by millions.

9.) Can you tell us more about WEVents?
I am the President of WEVents (http://www.wevents.com.my/), a community for working women to get connected and socialised together. It's a women's only men not invited affair. The founde r is non other than Jeanisha Wan from J1 Consulting firm. She was also a columnist for The Star newspaper. WEVents is founded to empower women through a series of events under a theme for each year. Every year there's a min of 3 social events to carry out. This year, we are planning for our 5th Anniversary celebration in Aug/Sept. Brands or companies interested in CSR programmes and enriching women would find our community engaging.

10.) Have you used BeautyGuide.com.my before, and if not, what do you think about it?
I have a glimpse of it and I think that this would be the one stop beauty guide in Malaysia for women to visit and get their daily dose of beauty tips, advices and how to's from the comfort of their own home. There is a lot of potential for growth and engagement to consumers and the public mass via such a platform. I would like to see it excel.

Happy Birthday CrackHouse Comedy Club Malaysia

HTML email (weffashion.blogspot.com)
Happy Birthday Crackhouse Comedy Club Malaysia!

I could never get enough of standup comedies in Malaysia. Granted I just discovered the exciting world of the funnies since I stumbled upon Crackhouse Comedy Club, which is the first comedy club house in Malaysia introducing comedians both local and international to Malaysians. Which is something I am deeply grateful for because I didn't know how good our comedy scene is until they showed it to me. They made my life funny, colourful and I got to also learn what it takes to be a comedian, the rules of being at a stand up comedy (like don't sit in front, don't he ckle, do n't talk during a show, etc).

one with the Paul Ogata who made us laugh like shit

Once I go crack I can't never turn back haha. It's so true because the entrance fees to comedy shows can't be compared to the Crackhouse which starts f rom RM15 to RM30 (depending on what's the show of the day). On Wednesdays, it's open mike night for RM15. This is where you come and chill out, watching would be or seasoned comedians do their new thing or practice their materials. On Thursday, it gets fun for RM20. The comedians do Hack the Crack, which means improv. Improv is improvisation. My experience was watching 5 comedians do their thing and later, they would be randomly assigned by surprise to re-act to a comedian who performed earlier. This is where it gets real funny. I enjoy Thursday a lot!

Paul Ogata - Problem with Chinese Restaurants

On Fridays and Saturdays, it's RM30 per pop because weekends are where the good stuff comes in. Headliners (star comedians of the show) comes in to make you lau gh. They 're seasoned, popular, celebrities of the comedy scene from all over the world. I've seen Australians, UK, Singaporeans, Malaysians, and Americans. My favourite is by far now Paul Ogata from America. He's so god dam good. I missed his act so much.

a picture with my fave comedian

Now if you have never been to a stand up comedy club, or have friends to bring around in Kuala Lumpur, or you're new in Kuala Lumpur, going to the Crackhouse Comedy Club would be an eye opener to the comedy scene in Malaysia. They're having their first birthday celebration this week by unleashing awesome shows starting this Wednesday. Since it's their birthday, the shows are specially crafted for the celebration. Check out their web site and their facebook page to find out what you don't want to miss :) and enjoy the LOL ride.
