Ich habe seit Jahren nach einem Jeanskleid, das ich mit Leggings tragen kann gesucht. Bisher war ich mit keinem zufrieden, sie waren entweder aus zu dickem Stoff oder zu lang oder meine Größe fehlte. Dieses hier war das letzte und in meiner Größe. Sehr schlicht, wie ich es gern habe, leicht und in einer guter Länge (ich kann es am Strand auch ohne Leggings tragen). Auch die Tasche ist neu - es ist sehr schwer eine sehr schlichte schwarze Tasche mit verstellbaren Trageriemen zu finden. Ich war so glücklich als ich sie vor kurzem entdeckt habe. Das Jäkchen mit den Fransen ist auch ein Teil nach dem ich schon einige Zeit auf der Suche war. Am jenem Tag eignete es sich perfekt für einen Spaziergang am Rhein, es schütze vor dem kühlen Wind der ab und zu auf uns zu kam. Es war ein wunderschöner Abend...

Od lat szukałam dżinsowej sukienki, którą mogłabym nosić z getrami. Do tej pory nie znalazłam żadnej, z której byłabym zadowolona. Je dne był y ze zbyt grubego materiału, inne znowuż za długie, a przy jeszcze innych brakowało mojego rozmiaru. Ta była ostatnią w moim rozmiarze. Jest bardzo skromna i prosta - tak jak lubię najbardziej, lekka i o dobrej długości (na plaży mogę ją śmiało nosić bez legginsów). Także torebka jest nowa - miałam niesamowite trudności znaleźć bardzo prostą czarną torebkę z paskiem, którego długość można regulować. Wszystkie były albo sztywne, albo tylko do ręki lub miały ozdoby. Moja radość była ogromna, gdy w końcu trafiłam na mój wymarzony model. Narzutka z frędzlami również była czymś, czego szukałam. Tego dnia nadawała się świetnie na spacer wzdłuż rzeczki, chroniła przed podmuchami chłodnego wiatru. To był naprawdę piękny wieczór...

I've been looking for my perfect jeans dress for years. Those I found were either f rom a thick fabric or too long. This one was the last one in my size. It's very simple and humble - the way I like it the most, the fabric is thin and perfect for the summer and by this length I can wear it with leggings or without when I am on the beach. The bag is something I've been looking for too. It is really hard to find a very classic, plain black bag with an adjustable shoulder strap. I was so happy when I finally found it. And the cardigan is another piece in this outfit I wanted for a long time and had problems with finding the right one. It was perfect for our walk at the riverside, it kept me warm when a cool wind was blowing. It was a beautiful evening...

Workout Wednesdays: Serena Williams Edition

Even prior to her amazing performance in the French Open , the New Yorker had dubbed Serena Williams the greatest athlete in the world. So it was only right that ESPN officially gave her the title “trumping LeBron James, Derek Jeter and Tiger Woods”. Williams has been to twenty-two Slam finals and has lost only four times. Her French Open performance was nothing less than stunning! For her many triumphs and remarkable relentlessness, I salute her!

I also want to salute her as a fellow curvy sista. Serena’s body is always on point and she trains very vigorously. Her commercial for Beats’ wireless earphones gives us just a glimpse of a day in her shoes:

A lot of people think that Serena’s workouts are strenuous and out-of-reach for the everyday person, which is false! As Serena stated in an interview with Fitness Magazine, “it’s all about motivation and discipline.” Serena revealed a part of her full-body Nike workout in an article for Women’s Health and Fitness Magazine. The full workout can be found on the app Nike Training Club which specifically has a complete workout designed by Serena Williams, herself. So, I’m challenging you all to do Serena’s core workout with me that I have included below. Equipment needed includes resistance band(s), which if you don’t have you can easily substitute something else, and an exercise ball which are sold everywhere for a relatively cheap price. Are you up for the challenge? Take a look below:

1. Place shins on gym ball with arms straight down for support. Roll the ball in until it’s beneath you and your knees are near your chest. You should look like a frog. Roll back out, extending your legs behind you.

2. Lie with your stomach on the gym ball and lock your hands together behind your head â€" elbows out to the sides. Using your feet for balance, dip forward, keeping your back, neck and head in line, and return upwards.

3. Lie on your back and place the fit ball between your feet. Raise your legs to vertical â€" further if you can â€" and pass the ball to your hands. In one smooth motion, take the ball back above your head and extend arms so the ball is almost on the floor. Repeat in reverse and continue the sequence.

4. Place a resistance band around your ankles. Step your right leg out to the side and squat deeply. Let your left leg naturally drift across with you as you rise out of the squat. With feet no wider than shoulder-width, repeat on your left leg, stepping your left leg out wide and squatting deeply. Add arms to up the burn.

Traveling Shirts

Some of you guys hung out with me via social when I ventured over to Miami for the weekend.  Looking at these pictures, I sad that I'm not there enjoying the beach, the sun, and just relaxing. Waahhhhhhhh! Being in that beachy environment and wanting to vacation, but knowing I had a meeting to attend (because for some reason the work follows me LOL) I need to be able to pack items that would work well for what I was doing.  I packed a couple of shirts from Foxcroft to get me through my trip.  The blue and white shirt was supe r lightw eight and worked well with the humid climate and had me meeting ready, appropriate, but most importantly still cool. I also just a simple white shirt, which traveled well and didn't need ironing, as a cover.  In Miami anything goes, you can choose to cover up after you leave the beach or not, but for me I like have a shirt I can throw on top of my suit. I forgot how that southeast weather can be unpredictable.  One minute the sun is shining, the next minute there is a monsoon. 

Style Notes:  Both button ups are in a size 22, which what I usually order.  I've said it before, but the fit on these shirts are great. There is no stretch, but the arms fit perfectly. Both shirts traveled great, the blue and white shirt particularly is desi gned to be wrinkle free, so NO IRONING. LOL.

Here are a few shots of yesterday kicking around with my man. There's nothing better than a white dress in spring/summer. This one is going to be in heavy rotation. I'm in love with the details! It's actually a lot of things at once but it works so well. The eyelet, the shirt dress style, the cutouts, the ruffled hem...yes to it all. P.S. it's perfectly tailored and lined. All and all, it looks much more expensive than it is and now it's on sale for 22 bucks! Grab it quick, larger sizes are selling out fast.
