So Sao Paulo

HTML email (weffashion.blogspot.com)
I can't stop staring at this beautiful Antigona printed coated canvas clutch from Givenchy. Maybe because it's about 20 degrees in NYC but it just invokes all of these fanciful feelings. It'd be perfect for a night out in say Sao Paulo - I'd wear a gorgeous dress, clutch under my arm and I'd have a glass of sangria in hand. Fine let's be honest...I'd probably double fist and have two glasses of sangria.

My Favorite Plus Size Budget Friendly Online Shops

HTML email (weffashion.blogspot.com)
Dress 1 | Dress 2 | Dress 3

The word "affordable" is something that is talked about a lot, especially on my social channels. I think it's important to note that affordable can mean something different to each person and their personal budget.  For me, I put clothing in the affordable category if it's $50 and under.  I will always be a hi-low shopper. Meaning that I mix low end pieces with higher end pieces, but you may want to know where I find my affordable or do my "low" shopping.  Low end shopping doesn't always mean that you are sacrificing quality either. I love to shop places where I can get higher end clothing that is marked down due to season changes.  Here are some of my go to places:

6pm.com - A sister site to Zappos, 6pm carries a lot of department store brands and items are priced high and low. You can find some great bargain with plus size clothing and shoes. Personally, I like to scoop up workout clothes from here. I also like to shop Rachel Pally here because it's usually marked down half or more.

Hautelook - 3 words: SAMPLE SALE SITE - So this site will run a sample sale for about a week.  They list a variety of items, but they do a plus size sale every couple of months.  Sign up for the email notification, so you'll know when the plus sample sale is on it's way. I also buy a lot of home goods and beauty products here.

Ideel - This used to be a sample sale site, but they turned into a regular shopping site. Find a lot of your favorite brands marked down, plus some brands you didn't know about.  I bought my patent leather skirt from my birthday look here

Nordstrom Rack - Y'all know I know Nordstrom, but I love Nordstrom Rack too.  I'm so glad they are online now.  I cruise this site for quality leggings, large size shoes, and marked down City Chic.

SaksOffFifth - Last year I scored a $700 Marina Rinaldi jacket for $75 from this site. (As you can see, I'm still happy about this moment). SaksOffFifth deeply discounts a lot of the high end brands they carry in Saks.  One of the pricier of my "low" shopping, but this is a good place to get some of those special event cocktail dresses.

Rebdolls - I've worn quite a few of their pieces. Great for party clothes and I see they are doing more casual everyday pieces.  They go up to a 4X and it isn't jr. sizing.

I've said this before, but can't stress it enough. When I am shopping, I never look to clean up.  I rarely buy more than 2 pieces of clothing at any store or website (except Asos lol) at even given time and usually never more than 5 - 7 from one store in an entire season (except Asos again LOL).  I shop a variety of places and love to mix and match. I would look at these places just like that, multiple places you can mix and match.  Also, some of these sites (and I think it's b/c of the markdown/budget aspect) don't showcase the clothing the best.  Don't automatically discount the item. I would encourage to imagine the item on yourself as opposed to how it's being modeled.

Sidenote: I didn't mention Forever21 for a couple of reasons. The first is that most people know about them.  The second is that they are jr plus sizes that run small and a lot of people get sized out.  I know there are a lot of pieces that I can't wear due to cut and I didn't want to state the obvious.

Crack House Comedy Club TTDI

HTML email (weffashion.blogspot.com)
the one club you shouldn't miss even on weekdays

I've been seeing flyers about this Crackhouse Comedy Club around TTDI for the past few months and last I saw was at KaffeCafe a.k.a my favourite hang out. Still not impressed to even take notice until I met Michelle from Shiny Happy People who told me all about it. She's a student, a blogshop owner and now I'm finding out she's a comedian. It's funny how you meet colourful people out of nowhere because you're a blogger and one thing leads to another, I ended up visiting Crackhouse Comedy Club which is 10 minutes walk away from my home only. It's also shockingly situated above my favourite bar, Deutsche Gasthaus TTDI another place I hang out during the weekends.

the girl who told me about Crackhouse Comedy Club
(Michelle from Shiny Happy People #shappytats)

Last Wednesday, as I was walking pass Deutsche Gasthaus, I stopped to read the Crackhouse Comedy Club's poster. A lady was smoking beside it and she said hello to me. Apparently it's the lady boss of this place, Marinah. I told her I'll stop by to visit to catch the open mike session at 9pm (happens every Wednesday).

my first visit on Wednesday - open mike session
(where comedians practice their craft in front of a crowd)

By 9pm, I was walking up the stairs which looked a bit dodgy and there's like a door on the first floor. Upon opening, it's dark inside and there's a bouncer. Well it's a young guy nick named Baby Face by Michelle, crossing my name on the guest list (another surprise as I found out Marinah listed my name there after talking to me). I paid an entrance fee of RM15 and looked around the dimmed club, already the show was going on with Rizal (the boss) warming up the place for the comedians that night.

the comedians were a hoot on Thursday!

I took the seat right in front of the stage as there's no where else to sit (wondering why tables has reserved signs on it). Bad move because I was the target of the comedians that night and being my first visit (new face) didn't help. Anyway I enjoyed being bullied by them and this experience of watching stand up comedians live in the act was awesome. After the show, I made friends with a couple of them like Vikram who's from Chennai, here in Malaysia for work but does stand up comedy acts at night. Aaron Aw, a guy who makes fun of his height and tells people of his obsessions with "tetek" (boobs). Last but not least, I was surprised Michelle was there that night and she came up on stage to do her act.

laugh 4 times a week

I can't believe there's such a hidden gem in TTDI, while there's only 8 of us that night (which I'm not complaining because I don't like crowds) I enjoyed my first comedy club experience and came back the next night for their improve session "Hack the Crack" where comedians imitate one another. That was freaking hilarious. I'm definitely visiting again especially on Wednesdays & Thursdays night. The first comedy club in Malaysia, right here in TTDI - Crackhouse Comedy. If anyone wants to join me and grab a beer, hola me in Facebook.

Reflecting In Blues: My Five Shopping Resolutions for 2015

HTML email (weffashion.blogspot.com)
It's the second week in 2015 and I am still in a reflective and goal setting mode. I shared a personal goal last week, click here to catch up. A more polished look for the blog was another goal,  I hope you like it!
For the first time ever, I've made shopping resolutions. :} :/  My ultimate shopping goal this year is to Buy Less, Choose Well, Make It Lastand I have come up with five goals to help keep me on track:
Beanie & Scarf /Forever 21 | Denim Jacket & Sparkling Tank/ Lane Bryant (old) | Seven Jeans/similar here | Blue Suede Booties/Calvin Klein

Delilah's Shopping Resolutions for 2015
1. A monthly shopping budget (haven't decided how much yet, but it will be low ~ see #4).
2. I will not buy anything simply because it's on sale. I must LOVE it and it has to make me look & feel Fabulous.
3. I vow to shop my closet first, regardless of the event or occasion.
4. For every $$ amount spent, equal amount saved :/ (this will be the hardest, not a saver).
5. Do not forget my shopping resolutions!

Whew..Wish me luck!

Until next time, Stay Fab!

Happy 3rd Blogoversay!

HTML email (weffashion.blogspot.com)

Happy Monday all!

I can’t believe it’s already the 3rd anniversary of the blog! From winning a Redbook Real Women Style award to working with amazing plus brands such as Eloquii and Lane Bryant, this past year of blogging so far has been my most satisfying.  Blogging continues to help me grow as a person and helps me to learn new things about myself. Participating in the 30 Plus Style Collaboration with fellow bloggers I deeply admire helped me to further step outside my comfort zone and try new trends (Yep, I wore a crop top!). It was wonderful to be apart of group of women over 30 (a group that is often ignored by plus brands) proving style has no age or size.

Another highlight has been the friendships I’ve developed over the year. I’ve been lucky to make lasting connections with intelligent women who are just as beautiful on the inside as they are on the outside. Prior to blogging it was hard for me to make new friends due to my shyness. Through blogging and attending various events, I’ve been able to overcome my shyness. Now when I enter a room of unfamiliar faces, I’m no longer afraid to walk up to people and introduce myself.

Of course none of these accomplishments wouldn’t have been possible without the support of the BEST readers in the world! Thank you SO much for all your love and support this past year!

Have a wonderful day!
